DENR X brings land titling services closer to Bukidnon communities

To further improve land titling services to the people, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Region X (DENR X) through its Provincial and Community Environment and Natural Resources Offices in Bukidnon recently awarded land patents in various occasions in the province.

The awarding of land titles under the Handog Titulo program aimed to speed up public land titling within Alienable and Disposable lands and enable land owners to make their land more productive and help increase revenue collection of the local government units.

DENR X Regional Executive Director (RED) Arleigh J. Adorable said the partnership with local government units (LGUs) on the Handog Titulo Program will help fast track the processing and issuance of land titles particularly in the province of Bukidnon. He said the DENR are also in partnership with LGUs in other provinces and cities of Region X on land titling services.

He is thankful to the LGUs headed by Governor Jose Ma. R. Zubiri for their support and collaborative effort in pushing for a more effective and efficient land titling services in their respective areas.

The awarding of land titles was one of the highlights during the 104th Foundation Day of Bukidnon on September 1 in Malaybalay City wherein RED Adorable was the guest speaker. A total of 58 land titles with a total area of 6.6041 hectares were awarded to beneficiaries from the cities of Malaybalay and Valencia under the jurisdiction of Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Valencia. OIC, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer Vergilino Alima with the Community Environment and Natural Resources Officers and other DENR personnel were also present during the occasion.

Another awarding of land titles was spearheaded by CENRO Valencia in the municipalities of Maramag and Pangantucan, Bukidnon on September 3 and October 1, respectively. Twenty-six land titles with a total area of 27.8031 hectares were awarded to qualified beneficiaries.

The awarding of land titles was attended by Maramag Mayor Jose Joel Doromal and Pangantucan Mayor Miguel Silva, Jr. in their respective municipalities with local government officials, Sangguniang Bayan members, CENR Officer of CENRO Valencia Ferdinand Dagulo, representatives from national government agencies and private sector and barangay residents.

DENR 10-PENRO LANAO DEL NORTE CONDUCTS YES-O TECHNICAL VISIT AND IEC SCHOOL CARAVAN

To strengthen the promotion of environmental awareness and advocacy support to the youth, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Region 10 through the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) of Lanao del Norte conducted a Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) Technical Visit and Information, Education and Communication (IEC) School Caravan on November 21, 2018 in Lanao del Norte National Comprehensive High School, Baroy and Geronima Cabrera National High School, Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte, respectively.

In behalf of DENR 10 Regional Executive Director Arleigh J. Adorable, Chief, Regional Strategic Communication and Initiatives Section Lina D. Calvez shared the importance and the role of youth in protecting and conserving the environment. She also thanked the students and teachers who supported the activity.

A total of 200 students, teachers, and DENR personnel attended the activity. Students are members of the YES-O, Supreme Student Council, Barkada Kontra sa Droga and other school organizations/clubs.

The activity was in celebration of National Environmental Awareness Month, National Clean Air Month and National Climate Change Consciousness Week (November 19-25) with a theme, “Greening the Future: 10 Years of Enhancing Education for a Healthier Environment and Safer Climate.”

The topics discussed during the activity include Solid Waste Management, Climate Change, Tayo ang Kalikasan and other environment-related programs and projects. Mr. Arvin Antonio of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council Office of Lanao del Norte discussed about Disaster Preparedness.

An open forum and Trivia portion were conducted to discuss the environmental issues and concerns of the students. The Office also distributed IEC materials to the schools.  #TayoAngKalikasan RSCIS No. 12-322-2018
