To enhance the performance and ensure effective and efficient delivery of functions and services, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Region 10 through the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Initao conducted the training on Completed Staff Work (CSW) to the Initao-Libertad Protected Landscape and Seascape (ILPLS) Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) members and secretariat on March 29-30, 2023 in Cagayan de Oro City.

DENR 10 Regional Executive Director Henry A. Adornado (left photo) said that the CSW is relevant as guide for decision-makers on resolving issues and concerns by providing information such as actions taken and possible resolutions. He added that this will be mainstreamed in the performance of functions and responsibilities that will help the Office in providing efficient and effective public service.

The training is in partnership with the National Economic and Development Authority Region 10 and was participated in by 30 ILPLS PAMB members and secretariat. Activities included discussions on the ILPLS PAMB structure, functions, and responsibilities, key concepts of CSW, technical writing, agenda setting, taking minutes of meeting, how to prepare resolutions and updates on matters arising of a previous activity/meeting.

ILPLS is located within the municipalities of Initao and Libertad in the province of Misamis Oriental covering an area of 921.02 hectares. The landscape portion of the protected area contains primary forest with century-old trees that serve as habitat to diverse wildlife, which include the elusive Philippine Tarsier (C. syrichta) while its seascape holds an excellent coral reef teeming with diverse marine life and a portion of its coastline is a nesting site of the endangered marine turtle.
