In line with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR’s) mandate in the land disposition program by virtue of Republic Act No. 10023 or the Residential Free Patent Act, the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) of Misamis Occidental in partnership with the Provincial Government Office (PGO) of Misamis Occidental recently distributed free land patent applications to deserving beneficiaries from the 1st and 2nd Congressional districts of the province under CENRO Oroquieta and CENRO Ozamiz on October 13, 2022 in Oroquieta City.

PENR Officer Rey S. Fernandez underscored the partnership of the DENR with the provincial government under the leadership of Governor Henry S. Oaminal, Sr. through its Vision-“Asenso Misamisnon” and Goal-“Misamisnon Magpuyo’g, Malinawun, Malambuon ug Malipayon” dubbed as 5Ms.

PENRO Fernandez said the programs and projects of PENRO-Mis. Occ. will harmonize the vision and goals of the present administration of Gov. Oaminal. He personally thanked the good governor for extending support to the Department particularly in Handog Titulo Program.

Governor Oaminal on the other hand lauded the leadership of DENR X Regional Executive Director Henry A. Adornado and Misamis Occidental PENR Officer Rey S. Fernandez for consistently coordinating with the provincial government particularly the holding of the Handog Titulo along with CENR Officer Thomas Cardente, II of CENRO Oroquieta and CENR Officer Guilry Cabatuan of CENRO Ozamiz.

He also thanked beneficiaries for the patience and for bearing with the government’s processes in acquiring their respective land titles and for supporting the programs of the provincial government and the DENR. Governor Oaminal made sure that deserving beneficiaries received their land titles for their respective families. These land titles are considered as their advance “Christmas Gifts.”

He also reiterated that the vision and goals of the provincial government is aimed to eradicate poverty through its on-going economic development plans and programs to generate employment in the localities.

A total of 45 land patents from the 1st district to include 16 special patents intended for school sites and 59 land patents from the 2nd district availed the distribution of titles during the program.

The Handog Titulo Program is a continued joint effort of the national government through the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Registry of Deeds and local government units to fast track the processing of land patents. (RSCIG PR No. 10-312-2022) #TayoAngKalikasan
