In line with the organizational change of the Office and to continue its quality public service to clienteles, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Region X recently installed its new Regional Executive Director in Northern Mindanao on January 13, 2022.

DENR Secretary Roy A. Cimatu, pursuant to Department Special Order No. 2022-09 designated Director IV Henry A. Adornado, PhD as the new Regional Executive Director (RED) of DENR X in lieu of the designation of Director IV Arleigh J. Adorable as the new Assistant Secretary for Field Operations- Visayas.

Undersecretary for Attached Agencies, Mining and Muslim Affairs Jim O. Sampulna officiated the turn-over for and in behalf of the Secretary.

Assistant Secretary for Field Operations-Western Mindanao Joan A. Lagunda also witnessed the affair and shared her words of inspiration to both Officials.

USEC Sampulna during the turn-over ceremony congratulated both officials whom he described as due for promotions or over staying in their respective positions. He also challenged newly installed RED Adornado to maintain the standard of DENR X being a Regional Eagle Awardee for two consecutive years.

RED Adornado in his message admitted that his assignment in Region X is a tough job, according to him it is not joke to equally perform, the same thing that ASEC Adorable (former RED) has performed, being an eagle awardee for several times is very difficult. He further said, leading five PENROs and ten CENROs with more than 1.7 Million hectares of land. With the help and support of everyone, we will be able to achieve the same in the past and perhaps by injecting other innovations to improve and make better results with the full guidance of USEC Sampulna and ASEC Lagunda, he added.

He also enjoined everybody to work together and focused with same direction to achieve respective targets with utmost Discipline, Excellence, Nobility and Responsibility.

RED Adornado prior to his assignment in Region X was the former Director of the Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (ERDB) based in Los Baños, Laguna.
