To further strengthen and prevent all illegal transport of forest products, flora and fauna, minerals and various hazardous wastes coming in and out from neighbouring region, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Region X inaugurated its newly established Environment and Natural Resources (ENR) Monitoring Station on September 14, 2021 at Sitio Landing, San Isidro, Talakag, Bukidnon.
The launching of the said ENR Monitoring Station was graced by DENR Assistant Secretary for Field Operations- Mindanao and Legislative Affairs Joan A. Lagunda and Talakag Mayor Vergito O. Factura along with DENR X Regional Executive Director (RED) Arleigh J. Adorable, Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services Aldrich S. Resma, DENR Bukidnon PENR Officer Vergilino Alima, and Talakag CENR Officer Arnulfo T. Osio.
ASEC Lagunda congratulated RED Adorable and DENR Bukidnon particularly CENRO Osio for being the first CENR Office in the province of Bukidnon that has established its ENR Monitoring Station. She also challenged other CENR Officers who are present to come up with their respective ENR Monitoring Stations to prevent illegal activities in the province.
She also thanked Mayor Factura along with the local Philippine National Police of Talakag, Chief, Police Major Dennis Rowell B. Flores for the support and commitment to the Department in the enforcement of environment related concerns.
RED Adorable on the other hand personally thanked ASEC Lagunda for donating one computer set to the Talakag ENR Monitoring Station. The computer set will be very useful in the documentation of any apprehended illegal transport of forest products, flora and fauna, minerals and various hazardous wastes as well as in the storage of photos and other documents pertaining to all activities in the station, he added.
Also present during the said activity are CENR Officer of Don Carlos Virgilio N. Batocail of CENRO Don Carlos, CENR Officer Morito B. Estifano of CENRO- Manolo Fortich, and Deputy CENR Officer Edelino Adane representing CENR Officer Felisicimo Escuadro of CENRO Valencia City.
The Office of the DENR Assistant Secretary for Field Operations- Mindanao and Legislative Affairs also inaugurated the newly established ENR Monitoring Station under the Gingoog City on September 13, 2021 totalling to three newly established ENR Monitoring Stations for 2021 in Northern Mindanao. #TayoAngKalikasan (With report from CENRO Talakag)(RSCIG MR No. 09-220-2021)
