Environment Secretary Gina Lopez (right) welcomes officials from the United States Embassy Lynne B. Gadkowski, Deputy Counselor for Economic Affairs and Richard A. Bakewell of the Economic Section during a courtesy call on Tuesday at the DENR office in Quezon City. Lopez invited the embassy officials to work with the DENR in its programs, particularly forestry and entrepreneurship, through the area development approach in its 29 identified priority sites. Department of Environment  and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Gina Lopez (right) leads a group of key officials of state universities and colleges (SUCs) in a cheering exercise, signifying collaboration to undertake scientific studies on the impact of mining operations in the country using the Total Economic Valuation or TEV framework. The initial meeting, held Thursday (Dec. 15) at the DENR - OSEC Conference Room in Quezon City had the assignment of each SUC to a particular mining site for the study. ###
