‘Isalvon” – the mascot for the near extinct Isabela Oriole (inset) debuts as the symbol of wildlife conservation program within the 359,486-hectare Northern Sierra Madre Natural Park (NSMNP). The mascot’s unveiling coincided with the launching of the ‘LAWIN Forest and Biodiversity Protection System’ which seeks to boost the country’s campaign against illegal wildlife trading and poaching using internet and high-tech wireless communication gadgets.
