WORLD WETLANDS DAY CELEBRATION

In celebration of World Wetlands Day, Chief of Protected Areas Management and Biodiversity Conservation Section Ranoray Love Noro gives a short lecture on the importance of wetlands and the ecological service it provides during the DENR 10 Monday Convocation on February 3, 2020 in Cagayan de Oro City.

Noro explains how wetlands are a highly functional type of ecosystem providing cradle to migratory birds and other countless species of plants and animals. World Wetlands Day is celebrated internationally each year on February 2.

It marks the anniversary of the signing of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance (Ramsar Convention) in Ramsar, Iran, on February 2, 1971. The Philippines joined the convention in 1994. #TayoAngKalikasan RPAO PR No. 02-037-2020
