In an effort to increase the general environmental awareness of the public and effectively promote the frontline programs of the Agency, DENR 10 Information Officers (IOs) and Youth Desk Officers (YDOs) attended a learning event on Media Relations and Exhibit Preparation on September 20, 2019 in Cagayan de Oro City.

Teresita Superioridad Baluyos, a media consultant and freelance journalist who was also an Information Officer in a government agency, served as resource speaker and shared the opportunities that the designation has brought to her career in public service.

In her discussion, Baluyos reiterated the need for a partnership between the government and the media to ensure that relevant and correct information are cascaded to the public. She reiterated that both need each other to carry-out its mandate and provide the highest level of excellent public service. She also shared tips on preparing an effective program exhibit.

In her message, DENR 10 Chief of Administrative Division Grace Dolores Chan encouraged IOs and YDOs to embrace their designation and responsibilities and take advantage of the opportunities and challenges to advance their knowledge and career.

Following the lecture was a workshop where participants role-played the process of accepting, accommodating and relating to the media given various situations. #TayoAngKalikasan (RSCIS MR No. 09-282-2019)
