DENR 10 OFFICIALS BAG TOP EAGLE AWARD

DENR 10 Regional Executive Director Arleigh J. Adorable bags the top Environmental Awards for Governance and Leadership Excellence (EAGLE) award for the Regional Executive Director category. EAGLE Award is the highest and most prestigious award that can be conferred to the most outstanding performers among the regional offices. This is to be given to field implementors who qualified as EAGLE Candidate and has the highest rating in his category (DENR Administrative Order No. 97-20, s. 1997.)

Other Official who made her way to the top and bagged the same award for the Implementing Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PENRO) category is the OIC PENRO of Camiguin Forester Merlyn O. Dumalahay.

The awards were handed to them by no less than DENR Secretary Roy A. Cimatu during the 32nd DENR Anniversary Celebration on June 14, 2019 in Quezon City. Correspondingly, it serves as a recognition to those officials who have contributed to the agency’s achievements in the preceding year.

The conferment process of the award consisted in two phases. The first phase was meant to determine the competence of the regional office in terms of delivering its mandate to the general public. In the second phase, the leadership abilities of the officials were scrutinized.

Among the nationwide top five finalists in different categories were CENRO of Oroquieta City Samer C. Ambola, OIC CENRO of Ozamiz City Guilry D. Cabatuan, OIC PENRO of Misamis Occidental Rey S. Fernandez and Regional Director (RD) of Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) Region 10 Reynaldo S. Digamo, former RD of EMB - Cordillera Administrative Region.

This significant accomplishment of DENR 10 literally speaks that the region is not just a home of the most number feisty Philippine Eagles in the wild but likewise a home of public servants who exemplify the core values of the agency: Discipline, Excellence, Responsibility and Nobility. #TayoAngKalikasan RSCIS MR No. 07-187-2019
